How it works
The Herald (the most reliable player) keeps the roll and runs elections. Every election the top devices by score fill up to ten Council seats, with a 15% margin needed to unseat a sitting member. Each kingdom is hosted by one council member, who runs its simulation and streams it to the players inside; kingdoms are balanced across seats by population and score. Walking through a gate hands you from one court to the next. Hosts send a snapshot of their kingdom to the Herald every 3 seconds, so if a host vanishes the kingdom is restored on another member.
Growth. When a kingdom holds too many people, a wall rises down its middle with a gate in it, and each half becomes its own kingdom with its own court — on a different council member, and the council grows a seat if needed. Halves can split again, down to a quarter of a quarter. When two halves empty out, the wall comes down and they merge again. And when the whole realm passes 96 players per kingdom, a brand-new kingdom rises at the frontier, opening gates in its neighbours' outer walls.
